The Wildlife, Bird and Amphibian Mitigation Measures course covers key considerations for protecting wildlife, birds, and amphibians, and identifying the fundamental needs of their habitats and ecosystems.

Learning Outcomes

  • Define wildlife.
  • Distinguish protected and endangered species.
  • Learn considerations for monitoring wildlife.
  • Recognize the amphibians of British Columbia.
  • Understand lentic, lotic, and terrestrial habitats.
  • Identify amphibians.
  • Gain a particular understanding of Tailed Frog ecology and habitat.
  • Learn about habitat restoration and enhancement.
  • Understand proper amphibian handling, husbandry, and salvaging techniques.
